ok, i'm working up my second home build today. my previous was a 440BX based mobo w/PIII 500 in a generic mid-atx case. what i'm working on today is an ABIT KG-7 RAID, Athlon 1GhZ (266), 512MB DDR. I'm using a case which uses the name "Cardinal". the shipping box claims it's made by SIMPLE, or maybe by SAMWOO COMTEC CO., LTD., but it looks astoundingly similar to many of the cases made by colorcases.com. the face plate is not one that i can find on their website, but the inside and the amazingly simple method of opening the case is practically identical to the 300 Series Stainless B case. very cool case.

now my problem:

on my previous case the mobo tray had a number of holes drilled into it, some of which aligned with the mounting holes on my mobo, and some of which were useless. my new case has a similar distribution of holes, but they aren't drilled out holes the size of a mounting screw. instead they are square punch outs about 1/4" - 3/8" each way. maybe i've missed something in case technology development, but something doesn't jive here. how am i supposed to attach anything to those large square punchouts? i think my case seller forgot to give me some mounting hardware, and i think i'm s.o.l. until i get it. oh well. if anyone knows something about this that i don't i'd love to hear about it.

any help with this would be great. thanks.

The case should have come with some spring steel standoffs that clip into the rectangular holes. If you bought the case from a nearby B&M take it back and demand a new case (who knows what else might be missing?) and break it open in the store to check for all the necessary parts. It pi$$es me off when I don't get all the parts.
