Well one of my monitors died and now im on a crappy monitor. The only problem is that the picture on the crappy monitor is messed up. Its hard to really see anything as everything is scrambled. Im assuming this is because of the previous refresh rate set with my old monitor. Im wondering if theres a way to fix this without going into windows. Thanks in advance.

more likely it the resolutions that are incompatible--you'll prolly have to knock it down a peg or three to sync-up with the monitor. so far as I know, that can only be done from windows, sorry

If its like that in safe mode it is not a refresh rate since its set at 60hz... May-b the videocard is bad.

Seriously, I think it's the desktop resolution. I have an ancient Mitsubishi CRT that scrambles the picture at anything higher than 640x480 resolution. Borrow a modern monitor for 10 minutes and change the desktop resolution to 6x4. You can monkey with different settings once it works.
