Problem with modem connection

Hi, I've been having some problems with my modem, or Isp, whichever the case, all is not good. Anyway, I know a lot of you play Counterstrike out there so I hope you can help me here. It seems everytime I try to get into a server, after it starts to go, all of a sudden I lose connection, just like that. I've tried talking to my provider, Att, but nothing has really helped. I've looked at my modem settings, network settins, etc, nothing seems to help. I've made sure there is no antivirus software running while trying to play, nothing. My modem is a Conexant softk56 modem, I know it is no good, but it used to be fine, until I got the newest patch for the game. Also, usually after the internet dissconnects, I am left to reboot, because it usually freezes, and I can't get out. If you need any other info, let me know, thanks a lot for helping.

Try a different ISP like NetZero.
Then try reinstalling modem drivers.
Then buy a modem at BestBuy and try it out (you can return it later, no restocking fee).
Then try reinstalling the OS <-- I like being sadistic 🙂

Aight, well, I don't know about reinstalling my Os, but I can try the modem thing and see how that goes. Also, I've been looking all over for a driver update for my modem, but half the sites don't work and when I do download it and try to update it, it says it is no better and won't update. I'll just try a different modem and see how that goes. SHould I have any init strings for my modem also? Hm, I'll give tfc a try tonight also. Thanks.
