Problem with Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Optical

Hey all, I've got a wireless optical mouse from microsoft. It worked okay for the first few months I had it. Now the button clicks only register when I move the mouse while clicking. As you can imagine, this proves a problem when I need to double-click something. My 90 days of support from ms is up (I had an issue with the unit "whistling" due to high battery voltage). Does anyone have any ideas?

You get some weird problems 😛
I assume you're using the USB connection?
If so, try putting the mouse on it's own USB port or switching to a PS2 adapter and see if that helps. It seems like maybe circuitry is interefering with each other?

Thanks for the suggestions. I acutally switched the mouse to its own USB port (from a seperate mobo header), and that solved the problem temporarily. Now it only happens every once in a while (at completely random times). I also tried the old USB/PS2 converter that came with my old intellimouse, but the computer didn't detect the mouse. I guess I'll just wait until the price drops on the Logitech Optical Freedom set.
