Problem with Metal Gear Solid 3

I have the network adapter, and it works fine when I put in the network setup disc. I can connect and ping things and do all sorts of stuff. When I put MGS3 in and try to download the connection fails. I can see on the router the line that it is connected to flash on and off every second.

Anyone have this problem and fix it?
