Alright this problem is occuring on a fresh install of WinXP SP1 with some drivers having been changed to their latest equivalents. I have an IBM T30 laptop and it is difficult if not impossible to get older drivers (ie. those that were inplace before the reformat). Video driver same, internal sound card driver same, Sonica drivers same.
What should be new is intel chipset drivers from IBM's website and the trackpoint drivers.
I have a M-Audio Sonica installed and connected to my receiver. I tried playing back some videos and there were random intermittent snaps and brief "schhhhh" distortion heard. This same hardware setup has worked flawlessly prior to the reformat. I've tried different files and randomly placed distortion is heard in each.
Anyone have any idea on how to remedy this? Anyone experience the same problem?
