Problem with lsass.exe

When windows is ready open the desktop i get the message "lsass.exe System error. Security accounts manager initialisation failed because of the following error. Directory service cannot start. Error status 0xc00002e1. Please ckick ok to shutdown this system and reboot into Directory services restore mode check the event log for more detailed information."
I have windows 2000, asus cusl2, and geforce 2 mx. Any help?

Huh? What is your exact situation? Are you saying that you were seeing this error message on your system and are now just giving up and installing Windows 2000 over again, or are you saying that you were seeing this error message on a system DURING the installation process.

Did you follow the directions in the error message -- rebooting to Directory Services Restore Mode and checking the Event Viewer??? If so, what did you find?

This is an error that can be caused if permissions have been set improperly on the system drive root, the Active Directory log files, and / or the NT Directory Services folder. Did you change permissions / security settings on any of these items?
