My mouse has been been blinking red lately which indicates a low battery. I put it on the charger and instead of blinking green to indicate it is charging, it is fast blinking red. It does seem to be charging because despite the blinking lights, the mouse has been working fine for about a week now.

Does the fast blink mean my battery is at the end of its tether or is there another issue at work?

Well, I just shelled out $11 at Radio Shack, so hopefully that will solve my problem...

Blinking Red LED means the batteries are critically low. You need to fully charge the batteries by placing it in the charging cradle for at least overnight or 4 hours or until the LED turns Green Solid. This is an indication the batteries are fully charged. You might need to replace the batteries if they do not last as long as they used to. Batteries are Ni-Mh or Li-Ion. Check your batteries before buying.

1) Try cleaning the contacts
2) Sometimes I have to drop the mouse into the base at an angle for the contacts to mesh and start charging (green LED blinking)

Red Blinking Light = needs recharging

Fast Red Blinking Light when sat on charger..... now Ive had that a few times. All Ive done to remedy it is use it for a little while longer, 30s or so and it charges fine with the green light.

Note that in this situation, cleaning the contacts on either side didnt work and I never tried to change batteries to remedy it. I cant explain why the fast blinking happens but it doesnt seem to be hard to fix if it does.

Well, it is about 2 or 3 years old... Fresh batteries solved the problem.
