Problem with Lite-On 24x10x40x

I installed the drive into my computer but Windows 2000 does not recognize it correctly and only installs standard CD-ROM drivers instead of the Lite-On 24x10x40x drivers. When I try to uninstall the drive (through the hardware control panel) the computer locks up and must be resarted. How do I go about trying to correct this problem? Is there any place to get the correct drivers?
