Problem with LG GSA-H10N

It seem that the drive is recognized as a ROM. Under properties it shows as HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10N SCSI CdRom Drive I tried uninstalling and leting windows reinstall the driver and the update driver function shows I am using the current available. It works as ROM in all modes except it won't recognize blank media of any kind. I have had this computer up for months but this was the first time I needed to burn a CD as I have been using my other box for this untill now. I have it connected to the onlyIDE connector and it is the only drive on the cable and is connected to the primary/end connector, it is a antec round cable. I have also tried it with two different 80 wire cable w/o change. The LG site was worthless so far. Any Ideas? 😕
