problem with legacy usb 1.1 hub

Hi : here is a good one with this board.
P4P800 + P4 (1.8GHZ) 512 MB Samsung dual channel DDR400...all CD drivers setup ok all just out of the box.
Everything works jus great ......until I hookup one usb 1.1 hub that comes with my PS775 17'' viewsonic monitor.....the thing boot up ok...but extremely slowly....winXP loads ok...but extremely slowly...after I signin WinXp...everything works just great again...this is a very stable board.
I entered setup with this USB hookedup...and still the thing is extremely slowly.

Any idea of what is going wrong here??

A couple of things to check. First, did you indeed hook up the hub to the USB 1.1 plug on the MB? Make sure it is not the USB2 plug. Second, you should check the pinout for the USB plug vs the wireing from the monitor's hub. Also, did you go into Device Manager and check the USB listings there to see if there is a problem? Have you loaded the USB drivers for the MB? You may want to check the MB manufacturer's site to see if there are updated USB drivers for the board. Have you tried to use any devices with the USB hub?
