Problem with Leadtek ti4600 A250

Hi,

I recently built a system and bought a Leadtek Ti4600 A250. Everything worked fine until about 4 days in I started up my computer and the entire screen filled with thin vertical muticolored lines. This is from the very start, once the monitor turns on I see these vertical lines. I RMA'd the 1st card and recieved a 2nd card and that worked for about 20 hours and the same thing happened to me again. I tried the card on a different system ( 1.2 Athlon on an MSI mb) and tried using a higher voltage power source 400. My computer runs my old gf2 mx200 without any trouble.

I'm not sure if I just got very unlucky or if there is issues between my current MB and leadtek's ti4600. I'm planning to RMA this 2nd card but I'm not sure if I should try a different brand of gf4, perhaps ASUS or Abit brand? Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

My current system is:

Antec 300w PS
P4 2.4B
A-Bit BE-7 Motherboard
Using the 40.72 detonator drivers on WinXP

Thanks

I don't think its a heat issue. The Leadtek ti4600 has that really big heatsink with 2 fans on it and my case has 2 thermaltake 80mm fans. My current system temp is 30 degrees C.

is it just lines? or do u also get a resolution bottleneck?..like u can't go over 800X600.....i had a gf2mx long time ago and i had thick lines coming down, and couldn't go anything over 800X600...sucked...good thing it was under warranty....turns out there was a shaved metal piece lodged in between circuits in one of the RAM chips...taking it out dind't help..circuit board was already toasted....it's a long shot..but make sure the inards of ur case is clean.....and RMA ur card...it's damaged....(most likely...since u tested it on other comps as well)

BTW: welcome to anandtech forums! ..most of us just kick it @ ATOT (off topic)...try it! (and have a no life..aha)
