I recently got a SonyV505BX with builtin 802.11b. I am having a problem where while using the wireless connection, I will lose my connection to my workgroup but my wireless internet access will work fine. After accessing shared resources with my other computers on my network, I can no longer see any of them. I tried a System Restore, uninstalled and reinstalled Client for Microsoft Networks, and the only thing that resolves the problem is to uninstall the device in Windows XP and reboot and it reinstalls the drivers.
This has happened twice so far in the past week. Sony has no updated drivers on their website but tell me that Lan Express manfactures the card. I could not find their website for driver updates but found HP has recent drivers for their version (if there is actually a difference) of the card in some of their laptops.
Any clue as to what to do now? I don't want to send it across the country for service.
