Just doing fresh WinXP install.
Everytime the comp complete shut down and turn on, there's a message on the Bios that say

"CMOS/GPNV Checksum Bad"
F1 to run setup
F2 to load default

What's wrong here?
I already replace the battery on the mobo, still no cure.

Btw, the Mobo using BIOS release 01/12/2002
62-0112-001131-00101111-040201-Sis735-K7S5A

Any idea to cure the problem?

Thanks.

Look in your owners manual for the board if you still have it. My old k7s5a had a problem when switching harddrives around or changing stuff like that.

There is a reset jumper around your PCI slots that you can use to reset the cmos back to defaults. You move it, hit the power button, seemingly nothing will happen, then you put it back and power up and that should do it.

I'm currently running this board and have had this exact problem one or twice before.

I tired to update the BIOS and the thing locked up on me every time. Ah, well. Just getting another one. (Different mobo that is.)

i use the cheepo bios for it, found on google. as said above, reset, set the bios to defaults, then set settings, save bios on exit
