Problem with JVPowertools Registry cleaner in WinXP

I recently moved from RegCleaner to JVPowerTools. Problem though: I run the Registry Cleaner, and it gives me all the invalid entries. I choose Select All Safe Items, and then click on Remove. The blue highlighting then turns gray, the window loses focus, and then it just sits there doing nothing. It won't let me delete the entries. I just tried it on a Win98SE system - I click remove, and a window then pops up asking if I'm sure - click Yes, and it takes care of the entries. Any idea why that window won't come up on a WinXP system?

Thing is, when I run JVPowertools, it finds maybe 300 problems; without fixing them, I run Regcleaner. It finds only about 150 then. Since it hasn't been updated in awhile - all the updates are going into JVPowertools - it seems to be missing some errors.

all the updates are going into JVPowertools

Looks like an update is in order.

Hmm.. I have the same problem with the latest version. The JV16 forums have a thread about it too and no one seems to know the fix. I'll just reinstall the older version for now.

Using WinXP Pro and I had to go back to the old version (4.3) after selecting only the safe entries to delete and having JVPowertools screw up my Audigy2 program installs to where they wouldn't function without restoring the backup that it creates. And I don't want to go through the safe to deletes entry by entry. I don't suppose someone has an alternative equivalent to JVPowertools for WinXP Pro?

I do have it set that way; I'll have to try logging on as the administrator though; I log on as a user that's part of the Administrator group.

Edit: Tried logging on as the administrator; no change in the problem.
