Problem with internet connection.

First of all let me give a small bit of background info. My cable modem and router (along with a switch) are all in a closet with all my pc's cat 6 cables going back to that closet.

Last night everything was fine. I left the room for about an hour to watch tv. CAme back in and had the "Limited or no connectivity" error in the taskbar. I tried to connect to my router (192.168.xx.xxx) and got the Page cannot be displayed, etc.
Looking at my modem, all the correct lights were on but they were solid. Normally one of the , I believe the receive light, flickers constantly. Router looked fine as well.

So I uplug the AC power to both for about a minute, plug the modem back in and let it sync. Then the router. Modem still has all lights just solid.

On the pc, the "Limited or no connectivity" error went away. And I can now log into the router fine. Looking at the Status page on the router I see an Internet : Disconnected status.

The cat5 cable from the modem to the router is fine.

Onlyl thing I can think of is the cable modem is the problem. I called comcast and they say that everything looks fine from their end.

BTW the other pc on my network cannot connect either.

Does this sound like a modem problem????

I had to leave to go to work so I'm not there now but I did bring the modem with me in hopes of swapping it out this afternoon.

Have you double checked all of the connections?

Try connecting one of your pcs straight to the modem first. If it works, you know it's the modem/switch.

I know the line is good from my pc to the router. Then I checked the line from the router to the modem (brought it to work to check). So it has to be hardware I'm thinking.

I didn't have a chance to connect the modem striaght to a pc itslef. I may go home and do that before I take the router back though.
