I have just installed a D-Link DFE-680TX Cardbus Network card in my laptop. The laptop recognizes the card at bootup

and installs the drivers ok. After reboot I go into device manager and sees the card listed as problem device. On

status it says something like

"THis device doesn't work because Windows-support for programmable PCI interrupt haven't been activated"

"To activate this support click on Activate IRQ-steering"

I click the button and go rebooting. But Windows doesn't change anything.

I have checked the ressource tab and there it says that the card conflicts with the programmable interruptcontroller &

Motherboard-ressources.

I guess this is caused by the laptop which is an older IBM 760XL from 97' or so, which probably can't support ACPI.

Any suggestions is very much appreciated, as I feel that I have tried all like swapping PC-Card slots disabling com

ports etc.
