Problem with install HP printer on windows XP

Hello,
When i install hp printer i have an error:

First, be sure your computer has all the latest updates to SP3
Next be sure your computer has the latest Microsoft Windows Installer version 4.5

Next, some software may want the latest Microsoft .net software (version 4)
You may also want to download the latest XP Installer package from HP .. You may
have a corrupt download or they may have fixed an internal bug in it.

Reinstall the OS... with Windows 7! (Ok, I know, less than helpful, but ... why is anyone still using XP?)

I still have one computer on XP PRO with SP3 and all other updates (it just updated today, about 6 hotfixes) That is on an old Dell Demension 8200 P4 at 1.8Ghz .. it had 512MB RDRAM and it just got an upgrade totake to a full 2GB RDRAM (found a place that had it for $49 brand new -- it used to be very costly) My laptop a Toshiba is running Windows 10 Home

I have a lot of customers who still run XP, for a variety of reasons. Some have software which either can't run on newer versions or would cost $20,000 or more to upgrade. I keep an XP machine myself for support reasons.

As far as the printer goes, try downloading just the basic driver and see if that works for you http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers...Jet-Pro-MFP-M125-series/5396664/model/5303404

There's a basic driver with no installer that you can use to add a printer in XP. You have to click on the + next to basic drivers and it's there. Then just extract the archive and when you add a new printer point it the folder it's in and select your printer model from it.

In my case:

Machine 1: Midtower system with Gigabyte GA-K8n Pro motherboard Specs.
Info I got was that it wouldn't run Vista or beyond, so I'm still running XP on it.

Machine 2: Lenovo Thinkpad T60. I use it only to make unattended scheduled recordings of FM radio. Why bother to upgrade it from WinXP?

Machine 3: Midtower with even more primitive mobo than Machine 1. I'm running Windows 2000 Pro on it! I use it to make the occasional HDTV recording, nothing else.
