My friend just got a new dell inspiron 700m, after 5-10 minutes the system crashes and gives this BSOD, does this have to do with drivers in conflictl?, would a format fix it?, thankd for any help.

It doesn't have to do with drivers in conflict, a (re)format wouldn't fix it. I'd say you have a damaged hard drive. Likely to have occured in shipping. Go to support.dell.com and they should send you a new hard disk. Remember: backup, backup, backup.

Could be a driver problem. After about a week, I had a few BSOD with my 600D and re-installed WInXp and all has been fine for about 2 months.

IMHO

To test the HD, on boot when the dell logo appears, hold down ctrl alt and tap D. It may take a couple tries to get it to work, but the dell IDE diagnostics should run. It'll probably pass though since it's getting that far into windows, but it's worth a shot to save some time on the phone with Dell.

all test are ok, including HD, Ram and cpu im going to try dell restore disks

Does the BSOD happen in safe mode?
Does it happen every time, or only every X days?

There are people (say, me) that can look at the memory dump the BSOD makes and tell you what's wrong - restoring is a last-ditch effort.
