My uncle was trying to install a game for his kids on his computer, and he got the error message: The InstallShield engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. iKernel.exe could not be copied to C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Engine\6\Intel 32. Make sure that you have the appropriate privileges to copy files to this folder. (0x20)
The issue is addressed here: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108247
He followed the directions to fix the problem (required booting in safe mode to delete it) but it didn't solve the problem. the new ikernel installed but the game install gave the same message. any ideas?
