Hey fellas i'm having trouble with my IE6 browser. I use both IE6 and the latest version of firefox. The problem is when ever i open up IE6 and want to go to google or some other site, it keeps shifting me to firefox. I never had this problem before. I've been using firefox for about a year now and this is the first time this has happen. I did try to install IE7 but I didn't like it so I uninstalled IE7. Every since then IE6 hasnt' been working. Any ideas?

I found a couple of things that might help.

http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_ie6.htm

If that doesn't work this might.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378

It says that if you have SP2 install with windows XP to just reinstall windows xp SP2.

I think in order to reinstall SP2 you will need to download the stand alone version available here.

Supposed to tell you how you can repair IE.

Here is a link on how to download the ie6setup files so they are local on your hard, drive. You probrably will not need this link.

I think I have to reinstall sp2. When I dl IE7, every time I clicked on something it would say i was missing a psapi.dll. I googled it but it didn't help. SO i decided to uninstall it because of that problem. Every since then it was messing up. I do have a pirated version of xp w/sp2. I do have a legit copy w/o sp2, it's just when my buddy was putting my pc together he installed the corporate edition.

Thanks for you help. I had to reinstall sp2. IE6 is working fine. The last question I asked you was regarding me installing ie7. when I clicked on a icon I always got a error message saying I'm missing a PSAPI.DLL. Do you know why? Also how can I import my favorites from firefox to IE6? Any ideas on how?
