problem with IE6 in WinXP Pro

I have a fresh install of Windows XP Pro installed. I just got finished installing iMesh, eDonkey2000, and LimeWire (looking for a hand-to-find song). I restarted, than fired up AT. I had a couple of PMs so I clicked and viewed them. When doing this IE normally pops open a new windows. This time, when is was supose to open a new windows, it now closes all of my IE windows completly. I though that this may have been some stupid spyware app doing this so I DL'd adware 5 to scan my system for spyware. This found a couple of things, but didn't fix my problem. I also un-installed all of the P2P apps I just installed. This still hasn't fixed the problem. I have tested this problem on other sites besides AT and the problem is exactly the same. Anybody else have this problem?? Is it possible to re-install IE on my system?
