Problem with IE5 on Mac

When ever I start up IE5, it stops on the "Loading Preferences and Plug-ins" screen and the hard drive starts grinding. After about 2 minutes, IE works fine. I don't know how to fix this. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Do you have a lot of plug-ins for IE? If you do then that's what causing the slow-down.

If you don't, then try reinstalling the app.

The only plug in not included in the original install is Real Player, and yes I already reinstalled IE.
