problem with ide controller

i was building a computer - abit kt7 mobo, 1 ghz thunderbird. all drives get recognized in bios, but in windows, i get yellow exclamation marks in device manager, and nothing on the 2nd controller (2 cdrom drives) show up in windows. would the 4 in 1 via drivers solve this problem? thanks.

VIA and look at the driver section on the bottom right bar..

It would seem that you have an IDE driver issue for your mobo that could be cleared up by a driver update. That's my answer to everything concerning Windows yellow flag problems. Worked for me.
