I had my Lightscribe DVD drive die on me a few weeks ago, alright right after I flashed the firmware. It was the offical update, the drivers for the burner check for updates, and told me to download. I wasn't thinking it was the firmware that killed the drive.
So I took it back and swapped for a new drive. Installed it, it asked if I wanted to auto-update the firmware. BAM, two days later I try to use the drive and it won't open. Windows still detects it, but it won't work. this was on a clean install of XP the 2nd time.
