Exactly my point.

It all depends on how the TV is designed though. digital does not equal better.

I have the year older model but same TV, I know you got it from the HD thread and it's an awesome TV but I had the same problem at first too on HDMI. What I did to fix it was turn the TV on and the cable box off. Even though the box is turned off press the Menu button and change TV type to 16:9, HDMI Output to 1080i, and 4:3 Override to 480p. Tell me if that works, good luck!

Unfortunately, that didn't fix it :(

However.. using Component has fixed the problem. No flickering at all now! I certainly learned something new today.. I always assumed HDMI would be at least somewhat better than Component, whether it's LCD or CRT. Now I know that isn't the case :p

heh, yet another myth in display technologies.

Digital does not always equal better.

Glad it worked out for you. I'm not familar with that model but check out avsforum.com for more information than you would ever need.

As long as the Colts beat the pats I'll be happy. Wanna wager? Colts being my team and all.

Colts will smoke them this year, I'm in on this too lol. Paul, I really think HDMI is better for this TV. I know it's a CRT but with HDMI you carry digital sound to the TV's speakers too which are fantastic and sound MUCH better during HD programming. You also eliminate FOUL extra wires into one. I suggest messing around with the box options or calling Comcast to fix it (I recall AVS saying some newer boxes have faultly HDMI/DVI ports) and have a look/hear yourself.

The Colts cannot beat the Patriots at Home. Plus, we should have Tyrone Poole back (to take over for Starks), Seymour back, and Bruschi will have a few weeks under his belt. If we can find someone to at least play somewhat decent at safety, with Free Safety Eugene Wilson picking up his game a bit, I think we'll be fine.

Pats 27, Colts 21

Yeah I'll give it a try. Dealing with Comcast can be a pain (as well all know :)). It would certainly make it easier for me, otherwise I'll have to keep reattaching the component cables to the DVD player from the TV each time I want to watch a movie.

Now we just need to hope HDCP doesn't catch on which will force people to use HDMI.

I'll give you 2.5. That way if your boy kicks yet another game winning field goal you still win.

Bet?

:)

I'm serious BTW. It should be one hell of a game.

Back on topic...I'm glad to help with any AV needs.
