i just bought a 7200.10 seagate barracuda 250gb single platter.
the problem is that i have 2 sata controlers on my aw9d-max with bios 17.
one is sil3132 and another is ich7r.
i would like to know which one is better for a single hdd.
another problem is when i use the sil3132 the vista 64 installation dvd does not see the hdd.
i tried to load the normal sil3132 sata driver which i downloaded from the motherboard website and siliconimage website.did not work.
so, i went into raid option rom in sil3132, there it gave me options like create raid set, so i selected it.the only other thing i could select after that was concatenation.after that i booted with the vista 64 dvd.still it could not see the hdd. i tried to load the drivers i downloaded from flash.no go. then i downloaded sil3132 softraid5 inf.it worked.
i would like to know how can i install vista 64 normally in sata mode on sil3132 not in sil concatenation mode, what ever that is.
