Hi, I've justtttt built a pc. My problem is I have a 30 GB harddrive when I look at it in window 98 se it only shows that I have a 1.99gb harddrive. My best bet is I messed up when I formated. Does anyone know how I may correct this? Or do I need to reformat and start all over?
Thanks for any help.

You need to re Fdisk it and say yes to large capacity drives , Then remove the primary partition and remake using 100%
Then reformat it.
When you format it, It should tell you how much space there is when its done.

Lorne is right, you formatted with FAT rather than FAT32. FDISK asks "enable large disk support" which chooses one or the other.

But I think Win98 has a utility for switching to FAT32. I don't have Win98 on this machine to look though. Look under accessories in the start menu or check the help files. I don't think you have to reformat to switch to FAT32.

You are still gonna have to do an fdisk in order to recoup the remaining part of the harddrive
