Problem with Graphic-Card - Suggestions?!

Hi all,

my graphic card seem to be dead?! Here's what happended:

Yesterday I played Pro Evo Soccer ... suddenly screen got black (but didn't turn off, or loose signal; just a black screen).

I thought my computer just crashed, so I restarted. Since the restart the monitor doesn't get any signal from the graphic card.

I hoped, my old monitor just broke ... so I used my notebook as a monitor - but no signal either.
I'm not a geek, so I don't really know what to do now.

The card seems to get energy (cooler still runs!).

Any suggestions?! Would be awesome if there's a chance to solve that problem ... 'cause I'm a student .. and as you guys know: we never have money :/.

Card: EVGA GeForce 7800GT (256MB)

Thanks in advance

I got similar problem with my 6800gt because my card overheated.I reboot, and was only having black screen on my lcd monitor.

I switch videocard and saw that i got the same problem and really panic. So i put back my old card and, just for fun, press the analog/digital button on my lcd( because it was receiving no signal.) and....out of no where...it suddently work back.

The freeze temp crash made my lcd stick on analog for unkowned reason.

But hey, again, it might not be your problem, but you have nothing to lose to try it.

Me i suspect temperature crash with your videocard...and it "might be dead" . It happen, my old 6800gt is not dead...but it overheat a lot.
