Problem with Gladac+K7V(KX133)

I just got my K7V to substitute the K7M. I was having lower performance with the Gladiac then with the TNT2 non-Ultra. So I thought the KX133 would be a nice upgrade (especially that I should be able to change to L2 clock to 2/5 without soldering...). But I just installed everything from scratch, but installed WinMe for the first time (could this be the problem?). When I run NFS-PU in the initial screen I can see the background rotating (garage) as usual but the foreground is all messed up (cannot choose the player, cannot see the mouse, all is black or not present at all...). I tried running 3dmark2000, which worked with the k7m, and I can just see the screen before the first test flicker a few times and then the computer locks.
I am running the following machine:
Gladiac w/ detonator 5.30
K7V bios 1.005a
HSDRAM 128Mb
SB Live! Value (latest drivers from creative)
Creative Modem blaster 56k
Adaptec PCI SCSI (AHA 1906 I think)
HD
DVD
