When booting up my PC using a Ghost 2003 boot disk my system stops when trying to load the USB 2.0 Drivers.
The PC is does not Lock up, it just never gets to load Ghost.exe

I have any external USB HD that i back up my PC onto. On my older system i have never had any problems like this.

The BIOS reconizes the external HD, also there is not any problems with it under WinXP.

I have only had this problem since i upgraded to my new PC.
Asus A8V 2.0 1008
AMD 3200+ 64

Has anyone eles experienced this problem?

thanks

Ghost 03 is compatible with my external Usb HD.

when i was running my older 2600+ xp system it worked, i had no problems at all backing up my system to the same external HD.

How to resolve conflicts with BIOS legacy USB support in Norton Ghost 2003

Situation:
You are unable to create or restore an image to a USB hard disk on a computer that has legacy USB support enabled in the BIOS. This document describes how to resolve this problem.

This procedure also serves as a good troubleshooting technique when the cause of a USB related problem is not immediately known.

Solution:
If your computer has legacy USB support built into the BIOS, or you think it does, and you are unable to access your USB drive while booted from a Ghost floppy boot disk or the Ghost Virtual Partition, you may need to disable USB support in Ghost and rely on the BIOS support.

To create a Standard Ghost Boot Disk without USB support

While creating a Standard Ghost Boot Disk, click No USB support to exclude support for USB external devices.

To disable USB support in the Ghost Virtual Partition
Start Ghost.
Click Options.
On the External Storage tab, click No USB Drivers, and check Assign drive letters.
Click OK.
