Problem with FX5900 and newegg...

I just checked Newegg for the Gainward FX5900 256 meg version, and to my surprise, they have it. I decided to look at the pictures, and when i did, I saw that it doesn't look anything like it's supposed to?! It look identical to the eVGA cooling method! Why did they have to go change that awesome dual fan design to make it a double slot ugly card? I think I'm just going to have to get the 128 meg version. Will more RAM effect graphic design performance at all?

Thanks

I think it will definately affect the performance of graphic rendering. Maybe not games, but definately while rendering complex scenes.

I read a review on the Gainward video card and the heatsink, and it said that the heatsink doesn't take up an extra slot, but you shouldn't put anything that has big components in the adjacent slot.

Newegg has the Gainward card for $565.99, while gameve has it for $504. Has anyone ever ordered anything from gameve? Their resellerrating isn't the best, but it's a $60 difference. Should I just order from newegg to be safe?

Did you notice this?

Please note: due to manufacturer version updates, pictures may vary from the actual item. Newer versions of this item may be shipped before the picture shown is updated.

The FX 5900 hold plate uses two slots. While the Fan and heat sink are smaller that the FX5800 it is still big enought to render the first PCI slot almost unuseable. Which really should not matter, since it is recommended that you avoid the use of the first PCI slot anyways when using AGP. Plus its use might restrict airflow to the GPU.
