Hi all,
Running:
Win XP
Epox 8KDA3+ nForce3 250Gb
Athlon 64 3200+
1 GB Corsair XMS PC3200 memory
Dual 80GB seagate SATA drives
Recently, I have noticed hard drive intensive computer operations (such as norton antivirus scans, games that use a lot of file cache, etc) have been running amazingly slow. I have taken steps to format my hard drives, reinstall windows, update bios, drivers, etc and the issue persists. When formatting it took almost 2 hours to complete, and some percentage went significantly slower than others.
Anyone have any potential ideas as to where this problem my come from? I have not had any read errors, exceptions, etc, just the performance hit.
-Eric
