Problem with DVI output...

Hi,

I just bought a Samsung 191T to pair up with my Leadtek A250 (GeForce4 Ti4200). It works just fine with an analog input, but when I try to use the DVI, something strange happens : there doesn't seem to be enough colors... I can setup 16 or 32 bits display in the GF4 properties without a hitch, but the color shades on the windows tops are definitely ugly, and when I try to open pictures or playback videos, the image looks like it can't display all the colors. It's not as bad as when I actually switch to 8 bit (256 colors), but almost... This happens at all resolutions, and when I select 32 bits, it seems WORSE than at 16 bits. I am really at a loss at what could cause this... Is the card DVI output faulty ? Or the monitor input ? Or maybe the cable ? I am really at a loss as to why this would happen, so if anyone has a clue...

Fred

Configuration :
Windows 2K SP2
Detonators 30 or 40 (same result)

whoa you got it to work ? how did you do that ? tell me step by step how you got it working.

this is funny , i have a samsung 191t and i have been trying months now to get the dvi to work. , i have tried everything man , still nothing . its samsungs fault.

First Tried it on a Ti500 , Did not work , called up samsung and they ran step by step instructions still nothing
2nd Try Geforce4 Ti4200 , still nothing , it goes back to analog when u press exit.

I got a new 9700 pro and i have not yet tried it because i got mad and made the DVI-D cables into dvi so i still have to try it on the 9700 pro. :x

Ive never even seen a Samsung 191T working with DVI i swear. Does it even work ? Ive sent samsung billions of msgs , they know whats up but there playing stupid.

I just followed the standard procedure : plug the cable, install the monitor driver, and that's it. The display works perfectly with VGA input, I can also work with the DVI, except the colors are screwed : I don't mean they are offset, but there are just not enough colors... Check this :

VGA display

DVI display

A lot of ppl are apparently having DVI troubles with Samsung's LCD, but it usually just doesn't work at all, it's not like here where it is half working... Very strange... And apparently, no one in the forum can explain it either...

Nobody has any idea about my problem ? I'm still unable to get a proper DVI signal to my monitor, I'd really appreciate any help...

Thanks,
Fred
