Problem with drives on new system

hi all-
I just finished with the build of the Gigabyte GA-8INXP system, but I have a few problems:

The hard drive activity led on the case is staying lit up from the time I turn the system on. No flickering, just staying constantly lit up. I tried switching the connector around where it attaches to the mobo, but when I reversed it I got no light at all. The hard drive (new WD 120GB se) is detected during boot on the Promise bios screen (although it reports it as 111GB? is that correct?)
the way I have things setup is Toshiba dvd on ide 1, Sony cdr on ide 2, and the WD on ide 3/ Promise ata.

The other problem is that the Toshiba dvd and the Sony cdr are not being detected during boot. On the screen where it shows ide 1 and 2 it shows devices=none. Any idea what the problem might be with either case??
Thanks

Hi,

I'd double check all the master/slave jumpers on all of your devices. Then I'd try them one at a time connected as primary on IDE1 to see that they all appear individually (to rule out any one device as being faulty).

Then I'd check using all devices on only the non-promise channels.

After that get back to me and tell me what's up.

Good luck,

Andy
