Problem with Dlink DWL-120 USB to 802.11b Network Adapter

I have a Dlink wireless router DI-711 and a Dlink DWL-120 USB to 802.11b Network Adapter. I can get the USB adapter to work in W2K, but having problems with Win 98 (2 different computers). I have to unplug then replug the USB device several times to get it to work, but as soon as I reboot, the USB adapter doesn't work anymore. Any idea? Thanks
