Problem with Disk management in XP.

I am using Win XP with NTFS. It's not letting me go into "disk management". It says "Server execution failed". Although other fuction under computer management such a Defragmantion etc. works fine. I wanted to change the Drive letter for my CD roms. I can't do that Until i can go to "disk management. anyone has any idea?
