Hi All,
I do some help for folks at a retirement home, and a lady had a pc with 56k modem to access the 'net, and using Juno (@ $4.95 a month). The odd thing is that when you log on to Juno, it gives you 2 options - email or internet - as far as which to access first.. im assuming either pop3 or http.
When she would try to access the email, it would say "connecting" or something like that but the modem would not even dial. The screen would say "there is an error on "X" line in the script, do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" and you would click yes and it would just sit there and not dial. If you clicked the "internet" connection button it would then make a connection, but then if you try to go back to the email portion of the software it still wouldn't work right, but would attempt to download the mail and then fail.
This software seems to be based on IE6 based on the system requirements as well as the IE message that pops up in the Juno program. I was just going to try to reinstall the software going from v.5.0 to 5.48. Does this sound like a good strategy? I'm not sure what else to do about this one.
Also, I must say, the Juno software is not that bad! Other than the fact that it doesn't work right (!) it is pretty user friendly and seems efficiently coded and quick (compared to AO-hell, for instance).
