Hi there, im having alot of trouble with my new setup (system info in sig) and after some help, ive tried alot of forums but still have not found a solution after several days now of trial and error after error :p

The problem is i have 4x512mb OCZ PC3200 ram in my DFI Sli infinity mobo. The memory was originally running at 200mhz. Started up a game and the system lockup after about 10mins of play and i had to hard reset. I then tried @ 166mhz and then games pretty much instantly locked up. only 133mhz will work for hours on end no problems. When i have just 2x 512mb sticks of ram in the mobo running @ 200mhz there are no probs either, and it could be any combination of the 4 sticks.

I have tried alot of different timings and settings in bios with no success, only 133mhz is stable yet after abit of research i should have no problems at all running the ram @ 166mhz and of course cpc is set to 2T.

After more forum posting and research i find this could be a memory controller problem and this is where my main question comes into play. Can you solve a memory controller issue so i can run the 4x512mb ram @ 166mhz (or better if possible). Is it possible that i just need to update the bios or does it come down to hardware and basically there is nothing i can do but replace something?

If any more detailed info is needed on anything let me know and ill post back.

Thank you for any help out there!

Try updating the BIOS to 623-2. This is the one that's supposed to have best memory compatibility. Also try others. I have 4x512MB OCZ Performance v3 and a Venice, I run BIOS 623-3 and I have no issues.
