Problem with CUSL2 and Promise Fasttrak100

I've generally had good results with the Promise Fasttrak100, however, the write performance with the cusl2 is horrible. Read performance is fine. I've tried both of my Fasttrak100 controllers and 2 different sets of 45Gb IBM drives. I've tried the 1003 and 1005.001 bios. I've tried both slots 2 and 4, neither of which is sharing an IRQ. BTW, the Promise Ultra100 works fine. The problem is unique to the Fasttrak100. I don't think it's a driver problem, as I can tell that the write performance is poor in dos mode as well as Win98SE. By slow I mean the burst/sequential/random write rates are all under 2mb/sec, whereas reads are 77/69/7mb/sec. The Fasttrak100 setup works great with my KT7 motherboard.

Anyone have a clue what the problem might be??

May I ask what benchmark program you used for testing? I've just put together an identical system, just curious on how this benches out.

Did you install the appropriate drivers for the 815 chipset? The 815 chipset which the CUSL2 uses isn't natively supported under 98, but is under ME.
