Problem with Creative SB Audigy..can't uninstall

I got this message because I was having some sound issues with Doom3 RoE (staticy and jumpy sounds) so I tried to install some newer drivers for my card. Now I have no sound at all, anywhere. I then tried to uninstall.

When I try to unistall from the CP I get to 60% and it gives me this message:

Typed out:

Unhandled Exception

Error Number: 0x80040201
Description: An event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers

Setup will now terminate.

(Ends there)

Ok and on their webpage there's a solution for this which involves going in to safe mode and uninstalling, and doing a bunch of other stuff...the thing is, is that I get the same error message even in safe mode.

I've tried system restore, I've tried countless other things and I can't figure it out.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could also try uninstalling the drivers from the package used -expand the package and run \Drivers\Setup.exe (the one with the triangle icon), choosing Uninstall and Delete All Shared.

Ok, I finally got everything uninstalled and reinstalled, now there's still no sound. I've tried all of the troubleshooting things...

It's funny, when I restarted windows, I heard part of the windows start theme come through my speakers, then it cut off...could that mean anything?

Thanks for your help, the driver cleaner software helped a lot.
