Problem with cooler

Hello, I have a GlobalWIN FOP-32 heatsink and fan, and I am trying to mount it onto a FC-PGA cpu on an Abit Slotket III. The problem is that when I try to fasten the cooler to the socket, it is really tight, and the part the clip that sort of rotates (kinda like a hinge) snaps off because of all of the pressure. I have to snap it back in place, but most of the time the same thing happens (unless I'm lucky). Does anybody else have this problem, and/or does anybody know how I can solve this problem? Please help!!!

Is the clip all the way over the slotket catch? Be sure it's all the way over it till it hits the back. If it is then it sounds like part of it is scrapped off. That can easily happen when changing heatsinks. If it is scrapped off you may have to end up getting a heatsink with a 3 prong clip.

Hi, it doesn't snap of the slotket catch on the socket. The clip snaps off of the metal band, the band that goes across the heatsink. There is one side of the band where the clip is part of the band (it's uniform), and the other side the clip is a seperate piece. It sort of snaps into place so it can rotate a little. You can see what I'm talking about here and here (the FOP-38 is pretty much the same as the FOP-32)
So the piece of the clip that rotates sort of rotates from the pressure when I'm trying to mount it onto a cpu.
