Hi
I have ChainTech GeForce4 TI 4600.

My System:
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 807 MHz
Mother: ASUS A7V
Bios: Award Medallion BIOS v6.0 Award Plug and Play BIOS Extension v1.0A Award Modula
Memory: 384 MB
OS: Win 2kPro

Problem:
When the windows loads I get a full screen of colorful squares of equal size and a mouse leaves a trail of garbaged graphics.
Even before the windows loads - the bios logo appears messed up.

My Solution:
Tried to install the old (came with the card) (28.30) nvidia drivers and new (latest from the nvidia web) drivers. Tried the card on another system.

Results:
Same problem. Nothing helps. When I put back my GeForce 2 MX 200 everything is back and works fine.

What I think:
My card is screwed, wasted, I should return it...
Or my hardware doesn't fill the card's requirements.

Please express your opinions, solutions, etc

thanks

Sounds like what happens when you OC too much. You aren't OC'ing are you?

nope, no OCing

P.S.
i wander, may be I need more volts in my power supply. The one I have it's 300 v.

I heard like TI 4600 needs more power. Is that true?

More watts you mean....300 should suffice, unless you are running 10 drives. I ran essentially the same setup as you, except it had a Voodoo5, and that required external power, and I only had a 300w. Hmm....download the latest AGP drivers for your mobo? Try a third set of drivers? Or its always possible that its just a bad card...
