i'll try to make this as short as i can,i had a hp 8590c that i had gutted and started with a new msi k7t turbo-t-bird 800,new tower etc.... i kept the 27 gig,128 mem, pioneer 113, and the hp-8100 cd-writer plus. my problem is everything is working great except the
writer, when i load a cd in the drive it sits there and for the most part does nothing.i
haven't bben able to burn a cd at all. needless to say it worked in the old setup and doesn't now. i believe all three drives are on the same cable. if anyone has any ideas i
welcome your suggestions,i'll get some more info if i can.also i believe it's using 98se
drivers,thanks,terry

Have you gone to the HP website and DL'd all the drivers and firmware there is? What kind of burning software are you using?

I doubt all three drives is on the same cable becouse u only can have 2 on the same cable
try swich cable so your cd-writer is on 2:end cable whit your cd and your hardrive on the 1:st cable.
