Problem with Catalyst Control Centre

When I first installed Catalyst Control Centre, it said that I didn't have Net Framework 3.5 installed so I went to MS's site and installed 4.0. After I restarted, it still said that so I uninstalled 4.0, and downloaded and installed 3.5.

It's still a bit weird right now because I'm not sure whether the drivers are actually installed because my resolution is still 800x600 and there's no option in Display Settings under Personalise (Windows Vista) to change it to 1440x900. I can't open CCC either.

Please help.

Update:
Okay, it got my screen to run at native (1440 x 900) resolution now. Catalyst Control Centre won't open though. How can I tell if my drivers are successfully installed?

Also, is my WEI score normal? -
Processor: Intel i5 2500K - 5.9
Memory: 8GB -5.9
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD6950 - 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 4852 total available memory - 5.9 (<--?? Thought I only had 1GB of graphics memory/VRAM.)
Primary HD: 436GB free (466GB total) - 5.9

Update:
Yeah, Catalyst is dead. I'm at 1440 x 900 and when I hover over the icon in the system tray, it still shows 'Colour:32 Bpp, 800 x 600, Landscape'.

MOD EDIT: Maybe the fine gentlemen in Video Cards and Graphics can assist? - Zap
