Problem with cache in IBM 100GB

Hi I have Hard disk IBM 100 GB Ultra DMA 100 7200 turns. When I install only Win XP Nero show me in cache's test 41 765 kb/s on the next day he show me only 2,700 kb/s. Can u tell me what's wrong? Maybe my disk is damage? I use too HD Tach to test and he show me that same 2.700 kb/s. What I supposed to do?
