problem with buy.com new accounts?

I am trying to buy the sampo dvd player on buy.com dotd
just created a new email account and got a 30 off 150 coupon from techbargains for new customers
however, the site keeps telling me
"You have already used a coupon. One coupon per customer. The coupon will be removed from your basket. "
anyone knows what i should do?
is this a problem due to the fact that i went thru ebates? i tried it without ebates as well but now i am not sure.

sorry if this seems off-topic to some but i needed a reply before 3am est :p

try other coupons then they are everywhere and this should be in the off topic forum try a search for the coupon since they are not suppose to be posted

yeah use another credit card that usually works

i used a new cc and i had a new email account
tried like 5 different coupons from different places
even got a friend to use his computer to do it using a new account/email/cc that he created
but it just wouldnt work

in the end i called the CSR and she was nice and told me that she would credit the 30 bucks to my cc.
though i am now not so sure if that will happen. will have to wait till the cc bill comes i guess.
oh well, 150 is still an ok price for a dvd player....

worst thing is that if there is a great DOTD at 3am later.... maybe all of us might have this problem then and we would not be able to make good deals better :)

I emailed buy.com about this and they said the reason is the free shipping is figured in like a coupon. They had me send them an email after I had placed the order, and they said that they would discount the $30 when they had looked me up to make sure that I was in fact a new member. Being as this is my first purchase w/ buy.com, it shouldn't be a problem.

Of course, my order status has been "processing" for about 3 days. So far, I am very unimpressed.
