The board has both ATA and SATA hard drive connections on it...Using the ATA , and when I go into the Bios to set the boot order. It says that the items in ( ) are disabled from the boot order for some reason.
Anyone else familiar with this board? Will disabling the SATA , which is what I did. Cause this to happen? I disabled because every time it booted it hit the SATA first , and said no device connected , and I had to hit f1 to get it to continue to boot.......

are your hard drives ATA or SATA?

i have a p4p800...so the bios shouldnt be that much different. there is another menu under boot sequence just for hard drives, so you may want to check that. also, at the beginning of the bios, make sure your SATA is disabled/enabled depending on what you have. mine is weird though, if you disable sata, the primary and secondary drives (both CD and hard drives) will go down to third and fourth master/slave. so i just leave sata on.

ill look into this...good luck!

that's what mine did! I'm at work , so I couldn't remember exactly what the options were. But when I disabled my SATA that is what mine did as well , kicked the floppy and cd/dvd rom to 3 & 4 on the boot device list..
then when I go to assign the boot sequence , and select floppy to be the first..the floppy drive is in parenthesis , and it says those have been disabled in the startup list ... hmmmm
