So i managed to get the pre RC1 running on my computer and i decided to dl the ccc for it. Once the installation was done it said it required a reboot, so i did. When the machine came back on, when going into windows it gives me "out of range" on my monitor every time. I can get into safe mode, but vista wont let me remove programs (CCC) in safe mode. Is there anyway i can change the settings?

P.S. CCC won't open in safe mode for some reason either

Safe mode disables video options and many other things that's why. Funny I'm in the same place as you...but didn't have problems (LCD).

You should go to device manager and look for your display -- right click and uninstall. See if that helps.

ill give that a shot... (crosses fingers)

EDIT: hey good call, i removed my video card from the device manager and it works now. Guess ill just have to use teh default video driver that came w/ vista for now?

EDIT AGAIN: So ive detemined that it wont run at my native resolution (1680x1050 at high color quality (32 bit) but it will at 16 bit. Make sense to anyone?

ATI's Vista drivers have been a mess(not that Nvidia's are much better). It'll be at least RC1 before there's anything decent. In the mean time stick with the driver that came with Vista, it's a few months newer than the now-ancient download, and hopefully isn't as bad.

I actually get very good performance out of the packaged drivers, comperable to ati's on xp (FEAR timedemo at max settings)

Try turning on anti-aliasing or geometry instancing.;) The base stuff isn't bad, but the advanced features and control panels for them need a lot of work.
