problem with adobe flash 11 & surround sound

On my computer, I have a 5.1 surround speaker set up using HDMI audio from the video card going to an external receiver. My windows sound setting is set to use 5.1 sound. Normally, when playing stereo sound sources like mp3's, and flash videos, the sound is correctly outputted in stereo. However, since flash version 11 came out, the sound output for flash videos with stereo sound is outputted through all speakers (like quad stereo but thru the center and sub as well). There do not seem to be any settings to adjust how flash outputs its sound. Does anyone know a way to fix this? Is it a known bug? To fix it I have temporarily downgraded back to flash version 10 but am worried that version 10 will be deprecated in the future.
